Adopt a Hen
Adopt a Hen and get free eggs every week!
Adopt a Hen by paying a once-off adoption fee and receive free eggs every week! Our campaigns usually run for three months so the adoption fee will cover the feed and care of your hen for the three months, during which time, you will receive free eggs every week!
Your hen will be promised the absolute best care, as she roams our pastures enjoying fresh forage of multiple grasses, bugs, unlimited sunshine, fresh air and spring water. We will supplement her diet with our nonGMO, soya free, antibiotic free, yolk colourant free nutritious feed to produce only the best quality eggs for you every week.
Our adoption fee is based on your desired quantity of eggs per week. Since a hen usually lays 5-6 eggs per week, she can gladly rope in some of her feathered friends to assist so that you can receive 12 or 30 eggs every week.
Overall, the adoption fee works out to a 10% discount on eggs. A saving for you, care for your hen, and premium quality eggs every week - it doesn’t get better than this!

OUR HISTORY OF ADOPT A HEN
All around the world, small farmers engage in CSA model farming, standing for Community Supported Agriculture. In this model, customers pay upfront at the beginning of the season and receive their produce throughout the season in return. There are various styles to this model but many involve fruit and veg boxes on a weekly delivery. For the customer, they can expect either a set veg box every week, or a combo box depending on what is in season. Essentially the customer is buying a share of the farm for that season, and receive the harvest of the farm each week. For the farmer, the payment at the beginning of the season provides capital to buy the input to start the season off and helps with planning what to grow, and how much, knowing that all the produce is sold each week. This also means that the risk is shared between customer and farmer. With the customers owning a share, they rise and fall with the farmer.
Adopt a Hen is Bramleigh Farm’s version of a CSA model, but for eggs! When starting out with our first flock of hens, we had to pay for the new mobile coop, kitted with roosting space and nesting boxes, the feed for the hens, the actual hens themselves and for labour to assist with moving the hen house every day, feeding hens, collecting eggs, packing eggs and then delivering the eggs. These costs are very high at the beginning of an enterprise for a new farm. So we created our own version of a CSA where our customers could support us in the start up, and then receive their eggs once the hens were in lay!
